Overview
SynapClip may handle clipboard content such as URLs and addresses in order to provide app features. In general, SynapClip aims to keep processing on-device. Network or external app handoff only occurs when required to provide optional clip enhancement or specific user-requested functionality.
1. Link Enhancement
If you copy a link and have Link Enhancement enabled, SynapClip may attempt to retrieve:
- the website favicon, and
- the company logo associated with the domain
To do this, the domain or URL information may be sent over the network to fetch those assets from external services or the relevant website.
If you select Open on a Link clip, SynapClip opens that link in your default web browser. In this case, the URL is passed to your browser, and your browser may then connect to the destination website.
2. Address Enhancement
If you copy an address, such as a home address or postal address and have Address Enhancement enabled, SynapClip uses Apple MapKit to generate a map screenshot for that address. This may require sending the address to Apple’s mapping services in order to geocode the address and retrieve map imagery.
If you select Open in Maps, or Get Directions on an Address clip, SynapClip opens that address in Apple Maps. In this case, the address is passed to Apple Maps, and Apple Maps may process that information in accordance with Apple’s own policies.
3. Apple Private Cloud Compute
If Use Private Cloud Compute is enabled, SynapClip may transfer clipboard content or prompts associated with AI powered workflows, along with their inputs, to Apple's Private Cloud Compute servers in accordance with Apple's own policies.

We take appropriate security measures to protect your personal data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
